A history of Petterson Tire Corporation
Back in 1909 Axel Petterson opened his business as a village blacksmith and wagon maker. Axel was also Fire Chief of Des Plaines and Park Commissioner.
As years progressed the business was taken over Axel's son, Harold J. Petterson and is now managed by Harold A. Petterson.
With the passage of time the business has advanced and evolved to meet the modern needs of the community. Petterson Safety Service now offers complete automotive repairing, retail tire sales and tire and auto parts distributing.
Among other civic and community involvements, Petterson is active in sponsoring baseball and basketball leagues in high school and the Des Plaines Park District.
