Des Plaines Oasis
From Encyclopedia of Des Plaines
The Des Plaines Oasis was a rest area built over Interstate 90. It opened in 1959 and featured a Fred Harvey restaurant and Standard Oil gas station. The restaurant was replaced by Howard Johnson's and later McDonalds.
The oasis was demolished in 2018 in order to widen the tollway. The ramp to Interstate 490 is on the former site.
