Gilbert I. Rudiger (1905-1979) was assistant superintendent of School District 62 from 1931 to 1966 and was principal at North School, Central School and South School.

He was a library board member from 1935 to 1963, a member of the Elks Club, a charter member of the Rotary Club and helped start the Des Plaines Valley Geological Society.

His 1950 thesis "Organization and Adminstration of an Audio-Visual Program for an Elementary School" is held by Northwestern University.
