Arthur R. Wetter (1917-1999), designed the Des Plaines flag and the library's clocktower logo. He was vice president of the Des Plaines Historical Society in 1975 and president in 1977. His wife was Peggy Wetter.
He worked in the advertising department at Sears and later opened his own advertising agency, Northwest Public Relations, with his wife.
